Research Project on Degraded River Basins

From 1992 to 1996, Peter Shanahan contributed to the Water Quality Management of Degraded River Basins in Central and Eastern Europe project at IIASA,  This project focused on those rivers in the CEE countries that have been excessively polluted by municipal and industrial wastes.  The project sought innovative strategies for improving water quality within the context of the social, political, and economic transition of Central and Eastern Europe.
