Hydrologic Analysis of Merrimack River Flooding, Lawrence, Massachusetts

HydroAnalysis compiled historical data and completed a statistical analysis of flooding levels during the flood of April 1987 on the Merrimack River. The study was completed in support of flood damage litigation. Client: Lutfy, Griffin and Goulka through subcontract to Dr. Rafael L. Bras, consulting engineer.

Stormwater Analyses and Designs, Massachusetts

HydroAnalysis has used the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service TR-20 storm hydrograph model to analyze the potential impacts of proposed residential and commercial developments in a number of Massachusetts communities and to design detention ponds and other stormwater controls to limit runoff to pre-construction conditions. Clients: Private clients through subcontracts with engineering firms.

Hydrologic Analysis of Local Flooding, Burlington, Massachusetts

HydroAnalysis provided technical review of six local flooding incidents in Burlington, Massachusetts caused by severe thunderstorms on October 13, 1990. HydroAnalysis conducted site visits and analyzed meteorological and hydrological data to determine the circumstances of flooding. Client: Commercial insurance company.

Water-Supply Analyses

HydroAnalysis completed analyses of low flow in the Blackstone River at Woonsocket, Rhode Island to determine the adequacy of makeup water supply for the Ocean State Power Plant. We developed several computer programs to simulate on-site water storage alternatives and evaluate their potential benefit in ensuring plant water supply. We also completed statistical hydrologic analysis of the historical streamflow record. Client: Ocean State Power.

Drainage Consultation

HydroAnalysis has provided engineering consulting services to correct pre-existing surface-water drainage problems at two residential condominium developments.  Our effort focused on developing cost-effecting and easily implemented measures to improve the drainage.  Clients:  Condominium associations.
